Life and AD&D

Basic Life and AD&D

The Company provides you with Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) at no cost, through MetLife. This coverage guarantees that loved ones, such as a spouse or other designated survivors, will be financially secure after your death.

Your Basic Life and AD&D coverage amount can be viewed in your benefits enrollment platform shown below.

Supplemental Life and AD&D

You may also purchase Supplemental Life and AD&D in addition to what the Company provides. You must purchase Supplemental Life for yourself in order to purchase Life and AD&D for your spouse and/or child(ren).

If you are a late entrant, you will have to provide a statement of good health, called Evidence of Insurability (EOI). There is no age restriction. New hires can apply for the maximum amount of coverage without having to complete an EOI.

Beneficiary Designation

Your beneficiary is the person you name to receive your life insurance benefits in the event of your death. It’s important to designate beneficiaries for all plans that pay a benefit in the event of your death. If you don’t, your money could get tied up in complicated legal matters.

Benefits payable for a dependent’s death are payable to you if living; otherwise, benefits may, at the option of the insurance company, be payable to your surviving spouse or to the executors or administrators of your estate.

You may update your beneficiary information anytime by going to your benefits enrollment platform shown below.
